About the artist
Hi, I'm Laura.
A clay artist based in Amsterdam, originally from Honduras.
My journey with clay began during the lockdown in 2020, when I came across a garden gnome on Pinterest and felt an immediate urge to recreate it. I didn't have any formal background in sculpting or clay, though I've always had a passion for art and took a few classes here and there. Mostly, I learned by researching, experimenting, and letting curiosity lead the way.
I ordered air-dry clay and started making small objects , incense holders, ashtrays, and trinket dishes. I shared them with friends on social media, and soon people began asking me for custom pieces for gifts or personal keepsakes. That's when it slowly turned into something more than just a hobby.
A big turning point came when I started creating Coraline-inspired dolls, inspired by one of my favorite films. I've always been fascinated by its dreamy, slightly eerie stop-motion world. Those pieces resonated with people in a deeper way, and I began receiving requests for custom dolls.
My background and experiences across different places have shaped how I approach creativity, through empathy, curiosity, and a love for diversity and human connection.
I love creating meaningful, thoughtful gifts for people and the ones they care about, objects that feel personal and intentional, made to help someone feel seen and special.
Every piece is made by hand, slowly and individually, with its own character and story.
